Questions before you ride

Is the Hong Kong Ferris Wheel worth it?

At HK$20, it is an inexpensive way to see Victoria Harbour from above, a short walk from the Star Ferry. Do not expect a skyline panorama like the one from Victoria Peak: the wheel is 60 m high and the towers of Central rise above it.

How long is the ride?

About 15 minutes, two to three turns of the wheel. Keep in mind that there is sometimes a queue to board.

When is the best time to ride?

Weekday afternoons are the quietest. Evenings and weekends bring the longest queues, but also the best view: Victoria Harbour and the lights of Hong Kong after dark.

Do I need to book Hong Kong Ferris Wheel tickets in advance?

No, the ticket office sells tickets on the day. An adult ticket from Klook costs the same HK$20, comes as a mobile voucher for a chosen date and time slot, and skips the ticket office queue, though not the queue to board.

What happens to my ticket in bad weather?

The wheel stays open in rain, but closes during typhoons, very heavy rain, strong wind or lightning nearby. Tickets cannot be refunded; an unused ticket from a closed day stays valid for 3 months, to be exchanged at the ticket office when you come back.

Can I take luggage or a baby stroller into the gondola?

No. Large luggage and baby strollers go into the paid storage at the wheel before you board, and must be collected within 60 minutes. Wheelchairs are allowed in the gondola.
